TAFA: Lawmakers Must Act On Protections for Telehealth in Long-Term Funding Bill
Following Short-Term Continuing Resolution Passage, Telehealth Access for America Calls for Urgent Action from Congress on Telehealth
Washington, D.C – Telehealth Access for America issued the following statement in response to congressional passage of a short-term continuing resolution to fund the government through March 11.
“The millions of people who have come to rely on telehealth continue to face the possibility of lost access to care. Lawmakers must act on protections for virtual care in the long-term funding bill to give patients much-needed certainty,” said TAFA spokesperson Julia Mirich.
“Increased telehealth access has helped ensure patient access to high quality virtual care, supported better health outcomes, decreased costs, and increased patient choice,” Mirich continued. “As Congress continues its work to fund the federal government, we urge lawmakers to urgently protect telehealth access and provide patients with the assurance that they will be able to continue to receive the care they need.”
