Campaign Reiterates Need for Congressional Action to Protect Access to Virtual Care After the Public Health Emergency

Washington, D.C – Telehealth Access for America (TAFA) issued the following statement in response to the release of the proposed CY 2023 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

“TAFA looks forward to reviewing the CY 2023 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) policy put forward by CMS under the agency’s existing authority but reminds policymakers that congressional action will be required to permanently safeguard access to virtual care,” said TAFA spokesperson Julia Mirich. “Congress must act to avert the telehealth cliff for millions of consumers who rely on virtual care for improved outcomes, greater equity, more options, lower costs, and stronger quality of life.”
