Campaign Commends Lawmakers for Adding to Bipartisan Momentum to Avert Telehealth Cliff

Washington, D.C – Telehealth Access for America (TAFA) issued the following statement Thursday after the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce advanced legislation including a two-year extension of critical telehealth flexibilities.

“We applaud Chairwoman McMorris Rodgers (R-WA-05), Ranking Member Pallone (D-NJ-06) and members of the committee for adding to the overwhelmingly bipartisan momentum to avert a telehealth cliff for millions of patients by extending critical telehealth flexibilities, without onerous restrictions,” said TAFA executive director Alye Mlinar. “While we encourage Congress to make these critical flexibilities for virtual care permanent to safeguard and unlock the full potential of telehealth for consumers, we are encouraged by this positive step. Leaders in both parties and in both chambers should seize this momentum to ensure a significant extension of telehealth flexibilities is passed into law this year.”
