Campaign Thanks Lawmakers for Continued Commitment to Telehealth, Calls for Action to Ensure Permanent Protections

Washington, D.C. – Telehealth Access for America (TAFA) issued the following statement in response to the reintroduction of the CONNECT for Health Act. If enacted, the legislation would expand telehealth access by making pandemic-era virtual care flexibilities permanent.

“Telehealth Access for America commends policymakers for their commitment to creating lasting telehealth protections for the millions who rely on virtual care. The overwhelming, bipartisan momentum behind permanent virtual care access and the CONNECT Act for Health Act underscores patient and provider reliance on telehealth and the many benefits it brings,” said TAFA spokesperson Julia Mirich. “As Senator Schatz has said, telehealth ‘works’ and is widely ‘popular,’ and needs to be protected in order to get people the care they need.”

“Telehealth has become an essential tool for millions to access care. We continue to urge Congress to utilize this momentum and turn it into action, Congress must ensure permanent protections now,” concluded Mirich.
